Belittled

There lies a chasm at the end of this loop.
This continuous loop through which you're strung.
Sometimes, you slip through and fall without alarm
Sometimes, life topples you over in seconds
Pushing you to the endless chasm with a wiggle
    This happens through and through
    During moments of embarrassment
Of mockery, of subtle insults, of shouts and screams
Of being made to feel ignored,
    Unknown and anonymous
As a being of no worth
Of mortifying words of disrespect coloured
    In shards of rainbow colours
That gets thrown upon the little loop that binds you over.

    Then there's another fall.
Wherein you fall into that chasm, not in slipping moments carved by strangers
But when you're dragged through and through
Slowly like a fish struggling in sand cascades
Broken, bruised, the skin slithering off, smeared with blood
To the end of the loop only to fall
Despite the resilience of your resistant scales.

    Who drags you?
The ones you love the most
More than the fickle being that resides in you
Unaware of your worth, the worth of this
    Reckless, corroded being that stumbles
Time and again, holding mountains in
A small chest of pumped blood and
    Greenish veins
Mountains that explode releasing black fumes
    Silently and at times violently
Turning into volcanoes that can hold no more
    But give into their suicides.
And you mourn, the million deaths.
The deaths of the million parts of yourself
That were born in moments when you felt the most alive
With beautiful souls that paint the world
    With their million little colours
    Colours that still thrive
    Pondering over your death.

    Dear Reader,
Hugs to the inner child in you.
